BTD uses a variety of powder on wood to achieve a client’s desired
look, whether it’s a high-gloss finish reminiscent of a baby
grand piano, a textured surface or specialty effect. All are
abrasion and chemical resistant. Epoxy powders, ideal for furniture, offer a range of
possibilities, including smooth, textured and metallic
finishes for multi-component projects. Acrylic powder is also
UV resistant and produces smooth, textured and metallic
finishes. TGIC polyester, a lower cost alternative suited for
aquarium stands, audio-visual components and ready-to-assembly
furniture, can be used for textured, metallic and hammertone
finishes. Hybrid powders are also a less-expensive
alternative, and are used to create textured, metallic and
hammertone finishes.
Powder on wood is a good alternative
to many standard finishes including
laminates, liquids, melamine, membrane
press, thermofoil and others.
